The Alabama Genealogical Society (AGS) collects certain information required for purposes of validating and managing the membership records, and for administrative controls related to our public events and page-copy services. This information includes, but is not limited to: name, address, phone number, email address, and dues payment history. In addition we collect, at the option of the member or event-registrant, ancestral names and life-event dates and places. From time to time we publish such information through print and the web for the benefit of our members and the public at large, consistent with the educational and cultural mission of the society. The society will not sell or otherwise convey such information to any entity for use in solicitations of sales, services or other purposes through any form of direct mail, email, phone or other media.
